A visit to Kvadrat – fabrics, ideas & sustainability

The Hauser Academy is more than just an internal event for us. It’s the moment we take time – for exchange, inspiration, and genuine connection. At our latest Academy Day, all of that was tangible once again. This time, right here at our office – with strong partners, exciting new products, and a refreshing shift in perspective out in nature.

Starting at the Office – A Space for Ideas

We kicked off the day in our showroom: relaxed, curious, and eager for design and dialogue. Our partners Thonet, Leolux, and Lindner joined us to present their latest highlights – showing how furniture and space can be reimagined not only visually but also functionally and emotionally.

Thonet x Jil Sander – The S 64 Reimagined

A real highlight was the presentation of two special versions of the iconic S 64 chair, originally designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928. Nearly 100 years later, Jil Sander has brought her personal interpretation to the design – minimalist, refined, and full of character.

Her reinterpretation comes in two editions:
SERIOUS features a glossy titanium frame, high-gloss lacquered beech elements, and leather seating surfaces in Graphite Black, Graphite Ruby Red, Graphite Green, or Graphite Blue. Alternatively, there’s a version with dark-stained woven cane called Dark Melange.
NORDIC comes with a matte silver nickel frame, white-pigmented oak, and either natural cane or leather in soft Alabaster White.

Each piece carries Jil Sander’s discreet engraved signature – a subtle but striking detail that emphasizes the exclusivity and craftsmanship of the collection.
What we appreciated most was the respect for the original paired with a bold design vision. The result is a timeless piece that feels thoroughly contemporary. (A dedicated blog post about this collection is coming soon.)

Leolux SEN – Lounge Seating, Reimagined

Leolux’s SEN armchair made just as strong an impression. With its flowing, soft form, it feels like a calming anchor in any room. It invites retreat – without turning away from its surroundings.

Designed by the acclaimed studio Yabu Pushelberg, SEN is based on two gently curved U-shapes that form a sculptural yet accessible silhouette.

SEN is highly customizable – from swivel or fixed bases to a variety of fabrics and leathers in calm or vibrant tones.
It’s a seat that works in lounges, focus areas or reception spaces – bringing the kind of effortless ease that modern workplaces need.

CAS Rooms by Lindner – Rooms Within the Room

When it comes to flexible workspaces, Lindner’s CAS Rooms are much more than meeting boxes. These modular room-in-room systems stand independently, fit seamlessly into open offices, and offer exactly what’s often missing in everyday work life: focus, quiet, and space to think.

What impressed us:
Modularity – set up or reconfigure the system in just a few hours.
Materials – over 450 colors and finishes to choose from, including textiles, wood, and glass.
Function – excellent acoustics, integrated ventilation and lighting, and an overall calming presence.

Whether used as phone booths, team pods, quiet zones, or hybrid workspaces – CAS Rooms create privacy without compromising openness. For us, it’s a concept with a strong future.

Lunch That Brings Us Together

After so many exciting impressions, it was time for a different kind of exchange. We headed to our favorite Italian spot around the corner. And while that may sound simple – that’s often where the real team spirit emerges: honest conversations, shared laughter, spontaneous ideas.

A New Perspective at the Wildlife Park

In the afternoon, we headed out into nature – to the Wildlife Park in Poing. Between deer, wild boars, and tall trees, the team dynamic shifted. No to-do lists, no presentations – just shared time outdoors. That space to breathe, talk, or just walk quietly together made the day complete.

What Remains?

A day full of inspiration. Not just through design, but through human connection. For us, the Hauser Academy is a space to rethink – professionally, personally, together. And we’re already looking forward to the next one.
