A visit to Kvadrat – fabrics, ideas & sustainability

A few weeks ago, we visited the Kvadrat showroom in Munich – right in the heart of the city and packed full of inspiring materials. Together with Briah Handa-Oakley, we browsed through the latest fabrics, talked about sustainable solutions and gained lots of exciting insights.

Who is Kvadrat?

Kvadrat is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality design textiles – with roots in Denmark and a clear focus on sustainability. They work with major architecture firms and design studios to develop materials that are not only beautiful, but also functional and durable. Particularly strong: Kvadrat pays attention to environmental compatibility throughout the entire production process – many fabrics are made from recycled materials and they are constantly working on even better solutions for people and the environment.

What’s new?

The new fabrics that have just been presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan were a real highlight. Exciting textures, bold colors – and, of course, once again with a strong focus on sustainability. We received some of these fabrics directly as samples, so they are already on their way to our office!

Also super exciting: Kvadrat Really – a material made from recycled textiles that is processed into robust table tops. And the Soft Cells acoustic panels, which cleverly combine design and function. They improve room acoustics and look really good at the same time – individually plannable and perfect for modern working environments.

Why we love working with Kvadrat

We use Kvadrat fabrics in almost every project. Why? Because they simply work: visually, technically – and they fit in perfectly with our approach to sustainability. The selection is huge, the quality is top – and it’s fun to work with a partner that takes its responsibility seriously.
