The evening kicked off with an insightful talk by Matthias Häusler, founder of k’mo͞or, on wall design as a purposeful element in office spaces.
What we took away: offices should be more than just functional. It’s about creating an atmosphere that makes people want to come back to the office – spaces that don’t just divide or decorate, but encourage communication and support social interaction.
In hybrid working environments, it’s more important than ever to design offices with a sense of comfort and presence. Wall design can play a key role in achieving this – not flashy, but with purpose.
Who is k’mo͞or?
k’mo͞or is a young company based in southern Germany, specializing in wall coverings and surfaces with texture and impact. Their designs range from floral to graphic, from subtle to bold – always with a clear goal: to shape spaces deliberately, not randomly.
Unlike traditional wallpaper brands, k’mo͞or positions itself as a material partner for architects and planners. Their products help zone spaces, improve acoustics or add depth – for walls that do more than just look clean.
Plant Wallpaper Instead of Plant Walls?
One idea that really stuck with us: not every space needs real plants to feel alive.
Especially in smaller rooms or where lighting is limited, wallpapers with organic or natural patterns can have a surprisingly strong effect – calming, flexible, and far easier to maintain.
Not a replacement for greenery, but a smart alternative.
Our Impression
The event was a refreshing break from the day-to-day – with materials to touch, real conversations, and one key takeaway:
Design starts at the wall. Wallpaper isn’t a trend accessory – it’s a tool, if you know how to use it.
Thank you for the warm invitation, the great food, and the always inspiring atmosphere at the DesignWerkschau. We’ll definitely be back!
