We recently visited Kl\u00f6ber on Lake Constance and spent two fantastic days there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this blog, we would like to take you on a little journey and share our experiences and impressions with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kl\u00f6ber: seating innovation and craftsmanship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kl\u00f6ber is an established company on Lake Constance that specialises in the manufacture of office furniture, especially seating furniture. Margarete Kl\u00f6ber founded the company in 1935 with the aim of developing ergonomic and aesthetic seating solutions. Kl\u00f6ber combines traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques. And this is reflected in the high quality of its products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kl\u00f6ber’s proximity to Lake Constance is more than just a locational advantage; the region and its tradition of craftsmanship characterise the company culture to a large extent. Kl\u00f6ber’s furniture is characterised by well thought-out design and comfort, thus contributing to a pleasant working atmosphere. The connection to the region and precision craftsmanship are essential components of the company philosophy. Many of the products are available in colours reminiscent of Lake Constance and its surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our visit to Lake Constance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We were able to spend two days at Kl\u00f6ber and get to know many members of the team. After travelling from Munich, we met up with our contacts Sarah Schlosser and Manuela Pietrzik as well as Thomas M\u00f6ller, the Managing Director, for dinner together in a nice restaurant right by the lake. In a relaxed atmosphere, we were able to get to know each other better and discuss various topics. The evening ended with a cosy nightcap in the hotel bar with a view of Lake Constance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, we made our way to the Kl\u00f6ber showroom and its administration and production facilities. The showroom building impressed us with its glass fa\u00e7ade in shades of blue, which also emphasised the reference to Lake Constance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the tour, we repeatedly encountered the values of tradition, family and Lake Constance. In the showroom, we learnt more about the founding of the company and its traditional background. It was exciting to see all the models from the beginning to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were then given a tour of the production facility and were given an insight into the delivery routes and individual production steps. We were particularly impressed by the high proportion of manual labour in the entire production process. The in-house test centres and quality controls, where the products are tested before delivery to the customer, were also very interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then met designer J\u00f6rg Bernauer, who is heavily involved in new projects such as the CoMeet and plays a role in most of the design processes for Kl\u00f6ber products. He gave us an insight into the world of design and explained how the chairs at Kl\u00f6ber get their shape and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the factory tour, Thomas took us on a tour of Kl\u00f6ber’s new head office, which is designed in beautiful wood tones and has a very modern look, while remaining true to tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final highlight was the boat trip together on Lake Constance to the famous flower island of Mainau<\/p>\n\n\n\n
